05 Mar 10 | CSU STUDIES Chris Luck began studies on Monday at Charles Sturt University in Wagga, where he will commence a four year Bachelor of Education, primary teaching degree. His siblings Catherine and Courtney are also studying, and are students at the Cootamundra High School in years 12 and 11 respectively.

26 Feb 10 | AND BABY MAKES EIGHT Murray and Julie Roberts of “Hillside” Cootamundra have a welcome new addition to their family. Abbey was born at the Cootamundra Hospital on Saturday, February 20, weighing 8lb 3oz (3.70 kg).
Termites invade hall
26 Feb 10 | EARLIER this week, the Out of School Hours Care (OOSH) centre located at the Australian Rules Hall, came close to closing its doors for the last time after a substantial amount of termite damage was discovered during a facelift of the facility.

$50,000 grave restoration project
19 Feb 10 | AN HISTORICAL study on graves at the local cemetery has revealed that Cootamundra has some of the oldest graves with Lebanese connections in Australia. This historic finding has secured Cootamundra a $50,000 Federal Government Grant to restore the gravesites and surrounding areas, subsequently turning them in an attraction for the town.

Ian and Karen Hoy have enjoyed their time as proprietors of the business, especially having had the opportunity to meet so many lovely people, the majority being animal lovers like themselves.
Gas leak stops trading
17 Feb 10 | COOTAMUNDRA IGA and neighbouring businesses were shutdown for up to five hours yesterday, as a result of a refrigeration gas leak. The in store smoke alarms sounded around 8.30am alerting staff and shoppers to the potential danger, who were then evacuated as a precaution. The Cootamundra Fire Brigade were notified just before 9am.

12 Feb 10 | COOTAMUNDRA high school students may have seen the last curtain fall on the iconic Rock Eisteddfod, a national phenomenon that has inspired thousands of would be dancers, choreographers and ‘roadies’ for over 30 years. A lack of government support has been cited as the cause of the funding crisis.

Advertising consultant Janet McAtear was farwelled, and thanked for her six years of service in what can (sometimes) be a tough job!
Collection to stay... for now
10 Feb 10 | THE collection at Memorabilia Cottage is safe for now as Mayor Paul Braybrooks confirms there are no immediate plans to sell off the items painstakingly collected by one local resident and sold to Cootamundra Shire Council in December 2007 for close to $30,000.

30 years of passion
05 Feb 10 | COOTAMUNDRA Antique Motor Club will celebrate its 30th anniversary this weekend with a trip to Jugiong. Between 70 and 100 cars are expected to attend the run. The Club, whose members are all antique car enthusiasts, formed in January 1980.
