DISCOVERING AUSTRALIA!

Currently enjoying a fantastic holiday in the Northern Territory are Ted and Denise Campbell. Ted and Denise travelled from Cootamundra to Woomera, Coober Pedy, Alice Springs, Katherine and Uluru. A highlight of their trip so far was barramundi fishing at Wooliana. Ted and Denise were photographed at Casuarina, Darwin, by Louise Leahy who was also in the Northern Territory on a ‘working holiday’.

GRAND MELBOURNE STAY

What a grand time these two ladies had recently when they travelled to Melbourne to attend the first-class performance of ‘music great’ Michael Buble. Sue Bradley and Joy Hogan are here pictured with Sue’s son Tom Bradley (who is of course the very proud grandson of Joy).

Tom now lives in Melbourne where he attends the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary College. Not only is Tom going from strength to strength in his academic studies BUT also with his dance! He is currently rehearsing for the Andrew Lloyd Webber production “Cats” which is being put on in Melbourne by the Altona Theatre Company (his part is Mr. Mistofalas).

Not to ‘let the grass grow under his feet’ Tom has already applied for a place next year in the Australian Ballet Company and also the New Zealand Ballet Company.

Summing up Tom comments that the move to Melbourne has been GREAT and we all here wish him GOOD LUCK in his future pursuits.

FREDA’S PASSING

It is with sadness that we report on the passing of Freda Andrews. Freda was that always cheery lady who looked after our every seafood need when she manned the seafood van near Elders each Thursday.

AND, who could forget the time when she and her late husband Jim were ‘at the helm’ of the Olympic Hotel. They were great hosts and as many a resident of Coota would recall the fun times had at the Olympic back in those days.

A Memorial Service for Freda will be held this Friday at the Christ Church Anglican Church commencing at 2pm. SYMPATHY is extended to their son Brett at this sad time.

LENNOX HEADS VISITORS

It was great to catch up with former Cootamundra resident David Hulm and his wife when they were here in town recently. They live in that ‘little bit of heaven’ Lennox Heads on the North Coast BUT commented that with the rain that NEVER seems to go away from up there they were enjoying their time here and a ‘little respite’ from the wet.

David also commented that the constant rain has certainly ‘dulled’ the tourist industry there and around the Yamba and Byron Bay area.

DINING OUT

Just delighted to report on the newly revamped dining room at the Cootamundra Country Club. We dined there on Saturday night last and were VERY IMPRESSED!

Now under new management and renamed Foxes Elbow Restaurant the recently finished décor is a compliment to those responsible, our dinner was delicious and the fresh roses that adorned each dinner table ‘a nice finish’!

Remember that they now do a SPECIAL on Tuesday and Saturday nights. Tuesday Night Buffet and Saturday night Roast AND are open Monday-Saturday evenings for Dinner and lunch Tuesday to Saturday. Gather a crowd or just an

‘intimate two’ and head to Foxes Elbow restaurant at the County Club.

BIRTHDAY GREETINGS

How nice to be saying a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Mr Les Loiterton who tomorrow will celebrate his 91st birthday. He is looking forward to lunching out with family and friends.

Enjoy your special day Les.

THURSDAY TAI CHI

Just to let everyone know that Tai Chi classes are currently taking place at the Cootamundra Hospital. Under the

guidance of their resident physiopherist these classes happen at 10.30am each Thursday morning in the chapel area at the

hospital. No need to book a spot just arrive a little before 10.30am and a gold coin donation is all you need pay.

SEE YOU THERE.
