MAUDE’S PASSING

It is with sadness that we report on the passing of a lovely lady - Mrs Maude Carroll who lived for many years with her late husband Michael at the Brawlin School house, passed away in Brisbane. She was living with her daughter Madeline in the bayside suburb of Cleveland at the time of her passing.

Many memories flood back of artist Michael Carroll and his wife when they lived here. They made many friends and contributed much to our community.

They restored the Brawlin School house and did so enjoy their life there, entertaining friends and neighbours and were ‘the happiest’ couple to know.

Michael passed away at their Brawlin home back in 1985.

They also have a daughter Jackie and SYMPATHY is extended to her and Madeline at this sad time.

ARTS CENTRE MARKET DAY

Now get this BIG event into your diary - The ARTS CENTRE Market Day set to take place on Saturday, November 22 from 9am to 3pm. There will be a ‘mirror maze’ of stalls with traders travelling from far and wide to sell their wares, heaps of Christmas gift ideas (and Christmas ‘goodies’) lunch and morning and afternoon tea will be served.

SO come along and enjoy Cootamundra’s ARTS PRECINCT!!

BIG ‘EXCITING’ WEEKEND

To those who are heading off to Gundagai this Friday for the running of the Annual Snake Gully Cup, have a SPLENDID time! It is always a great day out with thousands in attendance, travelling from all parts of the state and interstate.

Rumour has it that this year Gai Waterhouse will be there just to ‘socialise’ (not bringing horses this year) while husband Robbie and son Tom man their bookmakers stand.

A bus will be leaving the Cootamundra Ex-Services Club at 10am Friday heading for Gundagai. Do get in early if you want a seat! HAVE FUN!!

AND, for all you Andre Rieu fans heading to Melbourne for one of his FABULOUS, PHENOMENAL, BREADTHTAKING (and any other adjective you wish to use) concerts this weekend - DO ENJOY!! Surprising the number of locals off to ‘my favourite city’ this weekend to see this 40 piece European Orchestra + entourage.
