A GREAT SUCCESS
Pleased to report that the street stall conducted last Friday morning by the ‘lovely ladies’ of the Stockinbingal P & C was a GREAT success. Held outside Mark Kingwill’s, it was laden with the best ‘country cooking’ and their pamper raffle was ‘first class’. Happening next door to the Herald office, we all ‘stocked up’ our freezers with their yummy goodies!
Here pictured are (from left) Anita Morton, Mardi Corby and Sue Caldwell.
BIRTHDAY GREETINGS
Local lad Luke Johnston celebrated his birthday this week - hope you had a great day Luke. Luke is the son of Wayne and Shelly Johnston.
AND, BIRTHDAY GREETINGS to genial gentleman Neil Murray who tomorrow July 4 celebrates his birthday. Have a great day Neil.
PINK
Well, reports coming in from all the locals who attended the spectacular concert performance of “PINK” at the Sydney Entertainment Centre last weekend are lost for suitable adjectives to describe the experience!! Amazing, awe-inspiring, sensational, colossal, rip-roaring, fantastic, marvellous, smashing!!
A group of girls from Woolworths Samantha Bell, Jess Chalmers, Louise Benson and Bobbi Eccleston spent the weekend in Sydney, stayed at the Capital Square Motel in the CBD and as well as attending the concert did all the ‘tourist bits’ and had a SPLENDID time!
Jay Somers and Catherine Donoghue were also in the audience at the Entertainment Centre.
Now I believe this weekend some locals are travelling to Newcastle to attend the PINK concert. HAVE FUN.
QUEENSLAND VISITORS
Blen and Jenny Leahy are this week enjoying the company of their daughter Wendy Henley and granddaughters Sophie and Fiona. They have travelled from ‘warm’ Toowoomba to firstly spend a week here in Cootamundra before heading off to Terrigal for a stay with Judy Leahy.
Sophie is on holidays from Queensland University and Fiona is in Year 9 at Glennie College, Toowoomba.
ENJOY your stay girls.
TASSIE VISITORS
It was a very busy time for Rod and Julie-Anne Bradley the weekend of the Aussie Rules reunion. They travelled to Canberra Airport to greet former Cootamundra gentlemen Wayne Reid and Graeme Upton who had flown from Tasmania to play a part in the BIG weekend! There is no doubt that the reunion generated people returning to Coota from all over Australia!
Graeme and Wayne came here in the early 1980’s together with Andrew Eaton and Wayne’s brother Leon.
21st CELEBRATIONS
It was a very happy evening recently when Therase and Paul Rogers hosted a party at their Coora Avenue home to mark their son John’s 21st birthday. All in attendance had a great night.
Both the boys now live and work in Tamworth. CONGRATULATIONS JOHN
