SURREAL EXPERIENCE
How do the parents of former Cootamundra man Gerard Pigram sum up their Sydney experience last weekend - SURREAL - Maureen and Dick Pigram were in the audience at the Sydney State Theatre to see their son Gerard perform.
Gerard is now the drummer in the band which performs with former Idol star Damien Leith.
And in summing up their weekend experience, proud parents Maureen and Dick Pigram said Gerard’s first performance at the State Theatre was SIMPLY UNREAL!
Their note to me finished with ‘of course we were slightly biased’!
Gerard is here pictured with Damien Leith, together with his mum Maureen Pigram.
WELL DONE GERARD.
CANADIAN VISITORS
How pleased were Royce and Joanna Finlay of “Antrim”, to receive a visit from Canadian friends Jim and Hope Lawton. They run a ranch in Alberta, Canada, and were thrilled to have the opportunity to visit country New South Wales. They travelled to Cootamundra by train so as to see our countryside. Whilst here they paid a visit to the property of Tony and Denise Cross, of Jugiong, to view the shearing which was taking place.
The reason for their Australian visit was to compete in the World Masters Games.
Volleyball was their sport and they were thrilled to win gold!!
MONTHLY LUNCHEON
My doesn’t time move quickly - It is again time to make mention of the Monthly Luncheon of the War Widows and Ex-Servicewomen which will take place on Monday next, November 2. The usual time ladies 12 noon for 12.30pm lunch and do gather in the Bistro for a delicious lunch and catch up.
A BUSY WEEKEND
Well, wasn’t it great to see Cootamundra ‘abuzz’ this past weekend - what with over 180 bowlers in town for a BIG tournament at the Country Club all accommodation was totally booked out and our CBD on Saturday morning was a busy hub.
Then on Saturday night an Ag. Dinner held at The White Ibis saw over 100 people from Cootamundra and district enjoying a ‘top notch’ evening out.
As a guest at this dinner, it was pleasing to see district farmers put all their ‘on land worries’ aside to enjoy an evening which was full of ‘catch up time’ after enjoying a delicious dinner.
