SPRING WEDDING

It was a lovely, lovely day on Saturday October 10 when Cathy Beveridge (daughter of Barbara and Tim Beveridge) of “Eulie” Harden married Scott Cowdry

formerly of Moruya.

The ceremony took place at St. Paul’s Church Harden, with the reception

following in the garden of the bride’s family home.

Weather-wise it was a picture perfect day, and, as it was a morning wedding, the guests were able to take full advantage of the

garden with drinks on the front lawn, which overlooks the Coppabella Hills, before moving into the marquee for lunch.

The flower theme of the garden was carried into the marquee which had large flower arrangements around the outside and spring flowers on the tables.

The same flower theme also filled the church.

Cathy had three bridesmaids - one of them being Fiona Bassingthwaighte - while her niece Alice Beveridge, aged two, was flowergirl.

Scott had his two nephews as pageboys, as well as three groomsmen, including his brother Brad who had travelled out from his home in the Cayman Islands.

Many will remember Cathy as Cootamundra’s Miss Showgirl in 2002 when she was working as an Occupational Therapist at the Cootamundra Hospital.

Of course Cathy went on to ‘do Coota proud’ when she won the State-wide title.

Cathy and Scott went to New Zealand for a few days for their honeymoon, but plan to leave their Canberra home in December to travel to France on a six months working holiday.

A B I G WEEKEND!

Well, last weekend here in town was certainly B I G!

Beginning with the Toy Library Sale taking place outside Elders on Saturday morning (with many patrons making purchases), the Public School annual Fete, which saw a first-class attendance.

Then in the evening the Girls Night In held at the Town Hall was also a success.

Sunday saw the CountryLink Open Day, with a BIG attendance and from all accounts a MOST

SUCCESSFUL day.

Well done to all the staff at the station for their input into the success of the day.

AND, the Open Garden Day conducted by the Sacred Heart Central School Garden Committee was a SPLENDID success. Simply ‘hundreds’ went through the gardens of Phil and Jan Davies, Ian and Robyn McClintock and Hugh and Helen Hamilton.

Former Cootamundra lady Penny (Ryals) Bull arrived in town together with a bus load of Narrandera residents eager to see these ‘picture perfect’ gardens.

I met five people from West Wyalong who had travelled here for the day out.

AND, how generous of the Davies, McClintock and Hamilton families to open their gardens for all to ENJOY. WELL DONE.

MICHELLE’S HOUSE GUESTS

What a delight it was to meet Jill Meagher while‘wandering’ through the garden of Ian and Robyn McClintock on Sunday.

Of course many years ago Jill lived there with her late husband Andrew and their beautiful children, so it was somewhat a ‘trip down memory lane’ for Jill.

AND again it was a ‘trip down memory lane’ for Helen Meagher when visiting the Davies garden at “Milton” as that is where her parents the late Mr and Mrs Michael Meagher lived and raised their

children.
