MUNCHKINS
Former Cootamundra girl Vanessa Franklin (centre)is here pictured with Christine Lott (left) and Fiona Hayward at the Toy Library Sale which took place outside Elders last Saturday morning.
Vanessa now lives in Parkes where she and Fiona have the successful business Mobile Munchkins. They were here with their childrens clothing range and were delighted with the success of the morning.
SESQUICENTENARY
Former ex-students of Our Lady of Mercy College Goulburn, Margaret Whiteley and Caroline Howse were delighted to have the honour of representing the parishes of Bethungra and Cootamundra in the entrance procession before mass at St Peter and Paul’s Old Cathedral, celebrating the
sesquicentenary of the Sisters of Mercy Goulburn congregation.
Representatives from the 36 communities where the sisters had lived and worked were amongst the 2000 people in attendance.
NARRANDERA VISITOR
How nice was it to bump into fun lady Penny (Ryals) Bull in the garden at “Milton” on Sunday last. Penny was here to enjoy the Open Garden Day and she was on a bus from Narrandera with many ladies on board, set to enjoy a day out in Cootamundra. When I said good bye to them they were all enjoying lunch in the garden of Hugh and Helen Hamilton. TERRIFIC of you Penny to support your ‘old town’ Cootamundra!
SUE’S DELIGHT
Warmest birthday wishes to Sue Bradley who celebrated her 50th birthday last weekend. Family and friends gathered for an informal day of celebrations AND Sue’s delightful husband Greg SURPRISED her by planning the arrival of their son Tom , who flew in from New Zealand for the weekend.
Sue was just thrilled to have Tom present as well as their son Joe.
Not only is Tom ‘going places’ in his chosen career, as we reported in Monday’s paper, BUT Joe who is in Year 11 at the Cootamundra High School, is preparing to ‘try out’ for a spot in the Canberra Raiders rugby league team.
Well should mum and dad Greg and Sue be proud of their sons’ achievements.
TO WED TOMORROW
Spring is certainly ‘in the air’ and that heralds in many
weddings -
To wed tomorrow will be former Cootamundra girl Amy Callan, and in St Christopher’s Cathedral Manuka, she will say ‘I do’ to Canberra gentleman Nick Webb. The reception will follow at The Hotel Realm and in attendance will be a number of Cootamundra and district family and friends including Amy’s mum Margaret and Bill Green and Amy’s ‘very proud’ grandparents Sid and Mary Turner.
CONGRATULATIONS AMY and NICK
The wedding of Ami Earnshaw and Tyson Garth, of Horsham Victoria, will take place tomorrow in the garden of Ami’s parents David and Sheri Earnshaw.
They hope for a ‘picture perfect’ day while the reception will also take place in the garden there in Bradman Street.
Garth’s parents and nan will be part of their special day
having travelled from Victoria.
Warmest wishes Ami and Tyson.
Ami is on the staff at Premier Early Learning Centre.
