USA HOLIDAY

Cootamundra police officers Dan Couvee and Heidi Hage have returned to work after having had a marvellous American holiday!

They visited New York and just LOVED it - the food, the people and delighted in viewing a little snow lying around New York. Heidi commented it was hard to come back to 40 degree days after the cool of New York.

Another highlight of their trip was the Grand Canyon where they are here pictured.

WELCOME BACK Dan and Heidi.

BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY

So pleased to be saying a ‘belated’ HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the nicest lady Mrs Lesley Dinsmore, whose birthday was on January 31.

Lesley is a resident of the Retirement Village and prior to making that move she lived in Sutton Street with her late husband Geoff. We all remember the days when Geoff was at the helm of what is now Davies Amcal Pharmacy.

JOCK’S MOVING ON

Jock Tolmie, the son of Steve and Cathy Tolmie, is about to leave Coota heading for University of New England. After leaving school at the end of 2008, he spent last year working here in town and now it is time for some ‘serious study’ once again.

Jock has been working at the Central Hotel and licensee Brad Shields and patrons have really ‘enjoyed’ their time with him behind the bar and they wish him ALL THE BEST in his future endeavours.

KEN’S PASSING

Many locals will be sad to hear of the passing of former Cootamundra resident Mr Ken Smillie.

He passed away in Forster on Wednesday, January 27 and left to mourn his passing is his lovely wife Margaret and their family James and Jennifer, Philip and Justine, Meredith and Andrew, Thomas and Christie and grandchildren.

Ken was a Government Engineer when he and his family lived here and Margaret was very involved in community doings, they were both devout members of the Catholic Parish. Their daughter Meredith married Andrew Howse, the son of Michael and Jeanette Howse (Andrew and Meredith now live in Brisbane).

His ‘farewell’ was held on Monday last at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Tuncurry.

MAMA MIA TRIP

What a TOP time a Cootamundra group had last week when they travelled to Sydney to see the Mama Mia production at the Lyric Theatre. It was a one day trip and they attended the Wednesday matinee show, giving it RAVE REVIEWS on their return.
