CONGRATULATIONS, NONI

Former local girl Noni McNamara graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Wollongong on Wednesday, December 16.

Noni is pictured here with her parents, local residents Matthew and Therese McNamara.

Noni has returned to Cootamundra in 2010 to work casually as a Registered Nurse until July 2010, when she will move to Randwick to complete her New Graduate Transition Year at the Sydney Children’s Hospital. Congratulations, Noni!

14 FEBRUARY WEDDING

Cootamundra couple Scott Reid and Tina Fensom will exchange wedding vows on Valentine’s Day, Sunday 14 February, with the wedding to take place on the beach at Camel Rock, Bermagui.

Matron of honour is Sharon Wynn, best friend of the bride, with groomsmen Jason Herring and Tina’s son, Kevin Porter. Tina’s daughters Allysha and Claire Porter are also in the wedding party, assisting their mum as flower girls.

And the honeymoon ... two weeks in Hawaii!

Tina works at the Retirement Village, where the staff and residents she takes such good care of wish her and Scott all the best, as do family and friends.

The Cootamundra Shire Council has welcomed Jayde Boxsell to their staff, with Jayde commencing her first day of work last Monday.

Jayde is employed as a trainee accountant, working full-time to gain practical experience, whilst completing her University studies by correspondence. At the conclusion of six years study, Jayde will attain a degree in Accounting. Jayde is the daughter of Grant and Brenda Boxsell of Cootamundra.

BIRTHDAY NEWS

There have been a lot of special morning teas held at the Nursing Home and Retirement Village, with many residents celebrating birthdays this month. Belated wishes to Retirement Villagers Margaret Collins and Doreen Hart, who celebrated their birthdays on 5 and 9 February respectively, and to Kevin Field from the Nursing Home who had a cake and candles yesterday (Thursday). Grace Stanyer will be the birthday girl on Sunday, celebrating her birthday on 14 February.

RYAN-WALLIS WEDDING

To be wed on Saturday, 13 February in a 4.30pm ceremony at St Michael’s Cathedral in Wagga are local couple Michael Ryan and Casey Wallis.

Michael is the son of Diane and the late Paul Ryan of Illabo, and Casey is the daughter of Alan and Sue Wallis, who now reside in Sawtell.

After the wedding, the new Mr and Mrs Ryan will be taking a holiday to the coast, with a honeymoon to Africa being planned for later in August.

Wishing Michael and Casey all the very best for a happy future together!

CORRECTION

In Monday’s ‘Around Cootamundra’ column I made mention of the sad passing of former Cootamundra man Leo Kruit.

Leo was a long time Station Officer (not an ambulance officer as stated), and he was actually predeceased by his wife Pat.

My sincere apologies to the family for any discomfort that may have been caused by the publication of incorrect

information.
