COOTA CRITTERS
Closing their doors for the last time at the end of this month, if not before, is Coota Critters of Parker Street.
Ian and Karen Hoy have enjoyed their time as proprietors of the business, especially having had the opportunity to meet so many lovely people, the majority being animal lovers like themselves.
A number of reasons have led to the decision to close the business, with the ill health of Karen’s father a contributing factor.
Ian will continue on with his full time work at Vacation Care and Karen will be out and about when not travelling to and from Sydney.
We thank them for their time and expertise and wish Ian and Karen all the best for the future.
Pictured with Karen is her beautiful Chocolate Labrador “Bella”.

VALENTINE ENGAGEMENT
It was a very romantic Valentine’s day for Cassie Shaw who received a marriage proposal and a beautiful pink sapphire encased in a heart-shaped setting from her partner Craig Douglas.
No wedding date has yet been set, but sure to be included in the wedding party are their children Jackson (10), Chloe (4), Abbey (3), Ryan (18 months) and five month old Milly.
Craig is the son of David and Gail Douglas, and Cassie the daughter of Doug and Margaret Shaw of Perth.
Congratulations Craig and Cassie!
MEMORIAL SERVICE
Cootamundra residents will be greatly saddened to hear of the passing of William Edward Chapman Gould, who was born on November 14, 1977.
Will was the second son of former Cootamundrians Bruce and Carly Gould, now of Sydney.
Friends are advised that a memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 21, at the Clovelly Bowling Club on the corner of Boundary Road and Ocean Street, Clovelly.
Our sincere sympathy is extended to the Gould family at this very sad time.
NEW TEACHER AT SOUTHEE
There certainly is a strong male influence this year at EA Southee school.
Joining John Dorczak, Larry Wing and Trevor Glover in primary is Ty Malone, who hails from Bathurst and is teaching Year 3/4 in his first post after completing his university studies.
Christine Glover completes the primary teaching team - and by all reports the year has begun with a fantastic start.
WOLLONGONG-BOUND
Leaving for the University of Wollongong next Sunday is Brad Manwaring, who will be
commencing a Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts degree.
Brad’s family and friends wish him well.
70th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
Along with her daughters Paula Butt, Julie Doolan and Maryanne Fitzgerald, and daughters-in-law Rachel Fitzgerald and Virginia Fitzgerald, Trish Fitzgerald enjoyed a fantastic weekend in Sydney recently.
The girls celebrated Trish’s 70th birthday and they all enjoyed the brilliant “Wicked” production held at the Capitol Theatre.
Congratulations Trish for a very important birthday!
FANTASTIC WORK
My vote for “Volunteer of the Year” goes to Kay Forsyth from Hair Design.
Not many people will be aware that for the last six or so years, Kay has volunteered her time to cut and coiffure the hair of Retirement Village residents.
As you can imagine, the villagers look forward to seeing Kay to have their hair done and for a chat.
