18TH BIRTHDAY
Tara Haines celebrated her 18th birthday last Tuesday. Flowers were delivered to the SouthWest Slopes Credit Union where Tara works and she enjoyed the good wishes of her workmates and clients.
Family and friends took Tara out for dinner to the Central Hotel that night and she was joined again by out-of-town family and friends at the Family Hotel on Saturday night.
Tara will finish celebrating with a trip to Canberra to see ‘Swan Lake’ with her grandmother Marj Haines next month and a trip to Sydney on the October long weekend where Tara plans to complete the Bridge climb with former local Michelle Ly.
CAKE STALL
In memory of her beautiful grandaughter Georgia James, Lois James has organised for a cake and goodies stall to be held outside Rockmans
tomorrow.
Cakes, muffins and a range of other delicious items will be available for sale, and if you have any goods to donate they will be very gratefully received.
All proceeds from the stall will be donated to three worthwhile charities - Country Hope, the Sydney Children’s Hospital and Redkite, all of which
provide support to children, young people and their families through the difficult cancer experience.
EISTEDDFOD PREPARATION
A very busy Geraldine Ryan is currently helping her singing students prepare for the Wagga Eisteddfod to be held on Monday, September 6 at the Conservatory of Music.
Again accompanying the students on piano will be Alison Patterson, who very kindly donates her time for practice, and Deb Rose who very capably assists in the choosing and fitting of costumes as needed.
An Eisteddfod Presentation Concert will be held at the Art Centre prior to the day - a great opportunity for the participants to experience singing and
performing in front of an appreciative audience.
Geraldine and Mark Forsyth are also currently organising their annual “An Evening With Friends” show to be held on three consecutive nights at the end of September.
Junior students will be singing the opening song and it should once again be a show too good to miss.
CYBERBULLYING WORKSHOP
Senior Constable Dave Browne, a school liaison officer based in Goulburn, will visit Sacred Heart Central School today to talk to students from Stage 2 through to Stage 5 on the proper use of cyberspace.
The cyberbullying workshop will be followed up with a visit on September 15 to conduct a workshop on harassment, concluding with a parent evening.
Parents are encouraged to attend this informative gathering to learn how best to educate their children in ensuring that communication throug.
