HEADING HOME

Just had to snap this gem of Larry and Marie Wing heading home yesterday after having attended the Australia Day Breakfast in the Park, wheelbarrow in tow with their table, chairs and picnic basket on board!

They stopped to chat to Trevor and Aileen Pether and Belinda Scott seen here with her buddy Percy.

They all enjoyed the festivities that had taken place in Jubilee Park to mark Australia Day.

PROUD PARENTS

Present at the Australia Day Breakfast in the Park were Neville and Noreen Conkey (pictured right).

They were thrilled to receive the news this week that their son Greg Conkey, of Wagga, had on Australia Day received an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for his many contributions to the city of Wagga.

We will have a full story on former Cootamundra man Greg Conkey’s award in a later edition of the Herald.

WELCOME

Pictured above are new residents to town Hugh and Prue Pavitt, in attendance at the Arts Centre last Friday night for the FLICs showing of “Newsfront”.

Hugh and Prue moved to Cootamundra from Canberra and are busy settling into their Richard Street home.

PACIFIC CRUISE

The Webb family of Richard Street enjoyed a 10 day cruise around the Pacific over the Christmas period, celebrating both Christmas and Kathryn’s 40th birthday whilst on board.

The ports of call on the itinerary included Noumea, Vila, Mystery Island, Lifou and Isle of Pines.

The family (from left) Lachlan, Bruce, Emily, Michaela and Kathryn is pictured in the waters off Mystery Island with their ship, Rhapsody of the Seas in the background.

They voted the trip a fantastic experience and wish to thank Nancy at Harvey World Travel for arranging their trip of the lifetime.

MARY’S CELEBRATION

I was delighted to be present at the morning tea party on Saturday to celebrate the 90th birthday of Cootamundra lady Mrs Mary Hampstead.

The gathering took place at the Cootamundra Nursing Home and present were some of Mary’s siblings (back, from left) brothers Trevor, Robert and Arthur Moore (front) Mary and her sister Daphne Coady, of Wallendbeen.
