NEWPORT WEDDING

The wedding of Jaron Francis, grandson of Bette and Ray Luff and Rocky and Pat Francis, and Jackie Burrows took place at St. Michael’s Church, Newport Beach, on February 23.

Jaron and Jackie (here pictured with their wedding party) had Jaron’s two brothers Pete Francis and Matt Luff in the bridal party.

Jaron is the son of Jeff Francis of Cootamundra and Kerrie Luff of Wagga.

The reception followed the ceremony at Mobys Restaurant overlooking fabulous Whale Beach and the happy couple honeymooned in Thailand before returning to make their home in Newport.

HAPPY 21st

Just thrilled to have the chance to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the nicest girl Emma Axsentieff from Pazzaz Hair Studio who tomorrow celebrates her 21st birthday. Just know that family and friends will give Emma a SPLENDID day.

BIRTHDAY GREETINGS to two staff members up there at Cootamundra Supa IGA Jarred Flinn and Deidre Winters who both today celebrate their

birthdays.

AND, Andy Paulissen from our marketing department was happy to let us know that his darling daughter Bella celebrates her second birthday tomorrow. No doubt Bella will be showered with much love and many kisses.

INVERELL VISITORS

Many locals will remember Jim and Di Shadlow when they lived here back in the 70’s. Jim was a teacher at the Cootamundra High School as well as playing rugby league for the Cootamundra Bulldogs. Well, they spent last weekend here and did so enjoy catching up with old friends.

They live at Inverell where they have resided since leaving Cootamundra.

HENS PARTY

A number of Cootamundra girls travelled to Canberra recently to attend the hens night for

former Coota girl Skye Sargent.

Skye, who is the granddaughter of Peter and Betty Sargent of Murray Street, will wed Canberra

gentleman Phil Mendl on March 29, at a ceremony set to take place at Sutton Forest, and a number of Coota friends and family members will travel to the ACT to play a part in this happy event.

Skye is the daughter of former Cootamundra

residents Wendy and Peter Sargent now of Canberra.

A BIG WEEKEND

Sophie McGlynn celebrated her 21st birthday last weekend at a party hosted by her parents Sue and Graham McGlynn at their home “Jellingaroo”.

There were close on 150 guests in attendance and Sophie sums up the evening as TOPS!!

The ‘icing on the cake’ for Sophie was the

presence of her two brothers Jimmy and Ben.

Jimmy travelled from North Queensland and Ben from the Northern Territory.

Sophie is in her last year at Charles Sturt University, Wagga, where she is studying for her BA/Dip Ed and next year she hopes to be primary school teaching.

CONGRATULATIONS and GOOD LUCK.

EASTER MARKETS

Do make your way to Coolac on Sunday or Monday over Easter where the Easter Markets will be happening there in the recreational grounds next to the general store.

A variety of stalls will be there and yummy food stalls will also be present to ‘please all pallets.’

WILD HOGS AT STOCK!

Cootamundra Rotarians, in conjunction with the Department of Primary Industry, will be hosting a FUN movie night and barbecue at the Stockinbingal Recreation Ground, kicking off at sundown on Easter Sunday.

All are most welcome, bring along a chair (and your Easter Chockies!) for an evening of good

company and great entertainment.
