THE Cootamundra Southern Cross Care Auxiliary is gearing up for its inaugural Bridal Parade to raise funds for the retirement village.
For a number of months now auxiliary members have been gathering locally owned wedding dresses from all eras and recruiting models for the upcoming event which will be held on March 24.
So far organisers have sourced 44 wedding and debut dresses, which will be shown off at a special evening event held at the Cootamundra Ex-Services Club.
Kate Lonergan, one of the parade’s organisers said the event will not only showcase wedding dresses, grooms suits will also be shown, mother of the bride outfits as well as the traditional trousseaux wear.
The event will act as a fundraiser for the Southern Cross Care Auxiliary to help provide luxury items for the retirement village residents.
Tickets for the bridal parade will be on sale at the end of this month and will be available at the Cootamundra Ex-Services Club and Hair Design.
