Cootamundra businesses have until Monday to register for the Business and Retail Committee (BRC) Christmas Promotion.
Sharon Breese of the Cootamundra Development Corporation (CDC) said definite numbers are required by Monday so advertising can be organised.
This year’s promotion focuses on two major events falling on Thursday December 17 and Saturday December 19.
The Thursday evening will see the first of the shop locally draws, late night shopping and entertainment together with market and food stalls, while Saturday will feature the final shop local draw, extended shopping, market and food stalls and the Christmas Street Parade to take place at noon.
The theme of this year’s Christmas Promotion is ‘Coota Beach Christmas’, leading into preparations for the 10th anniversary of the Coota Beach Volleyball Festival which will be held in February next year.
Mrs Breese said while the response from businesses to date has been good, the CDC is looking for additional businesses to come on board.
“Small support leads us to do small things whilst the larger the support the more that can be achieved,” Mrs Breese said.
“The benefit to businesses may not be direct, however their support of the planned activities for this year’s promotion while emphasising Cootamundra’s profile and encouraging people to “Put Coota First” and shop locally this Christmas is of a huge benefit to Cootamundra in general.”
The cost of participating in this year’s promotion is a maximum of $150 but this cost will reduce as more businesses come on board.
Further details of how to participate in this year’s promotion are available from the CDC.
