Fair Dink for CanAssist

06 Aug, 2010 08:14 AM
LOCAL larrikin Clarrie Power is at it again with his latest project.

Clarrie has compiled a joke book containing the best of his weekly Fair Dink columns from the Cootamundra Herald.

The book, titled ‘Collection of Fair Dink’ was created specifically as a fundraiser to support Cootamundra CanAssist.

Clarrie is no stranger to the world of book publications, having previously completed two works, one of which highlighted the history of sport in Cootamundra and the second an adults only joke book, from which more than $4000 was raised and donated to the local branch of CanAssist.

The latest book features 64 pages and more than 650 jokes, with a touch of artwork featuring on each page.

Clarrie is hoping to sell at least 600 copies, however said he would be overwhelmed if he was able to sell 800 or more.

All of the jokes, which are extracts from the Cootamundra Herald’s weekly Fair Dink column, are suitable for children.

Clarrie would like to publicly thank the local businesses who provided sponsorship which enabled the project to be completed.

“I would like to thank the Cootamundra Ex-Services Club, Cootamundra Sand and Gravel, HMA Twomey Patterson, T Williams and Co, Cootamundra IGA, Dunk Insurance Broker, Secure Techniques and Cootamundra Carpet Care, I couldn’t have done it without them,” Clarrie said.

With Father’s Day just around the corner and Christmas fast approaching ‘Collection of Fair Dink’ would make the perfect gift.

The book will go on sale next Tuesday and can be purchased from the Cootamundra Newsagency, Cootamundra Herald, CW Jewellers, Totally Gifted, the Visitor Information Centre and Country Cuisine of directly from Clarrie Power on 6942 3842 or via email at cpower@shoal.net.au

All money from the sales of the books will be donated to Cootamundra CanAssist.
