FOR the first time in many years the ratio of male teachers will outweigh the females at Stockinbingal Public School.
Colin Trickett, a long time teacher at Cootamundra Public School, has taken on the role as acting principal for Term One after the departure of Mrs Judith Hall at the end of last year.
Mr Trickett, who will also be teaching Year Five and Six, has been in the
classroom for close to 30 years, having spent seven years teaching in Papua New Guinea and then spending time in several NSW public schools including Wollongong, the Blue Mountains and Cootamundra Public School where he has spent the last 13 years.
The village school has also welcomed Todd Kable who has taken on his first teaching appointment and has been handed the reins of Years Three and Four.
Last year, Todd completed his four year teaching degree at Charles Sturt University at Bathurst.
Earlier in 2009, Mr Kable completed his internship at EA Southee School and from there picked up some casual relief work at the end of term at the school.
Being born and raised in Cootamundra, Mr Kable wanted to be close to his family and friends so when indicating his placement prefernces, Cootamundra and surrounding schools were naturally at the top of his list.
Last year saw the departure of Mrs Judith Hall, as well as teachers Mrs Val Blandon who is continuing her career at Temora West and Mrs Terrianne Sherry who, along with her daughters Jessica, Rebecca and Melissa, have moved to Queensland.
