The Bulls won the toss and elected to field.
A surprising decision because of the heavy dew meaning that the Bulls were going to bowl with a wet ball for the majority of their innings.
After losing Jason Cronin early for just 6 with the score at 14, the Redbacks consolidated through a fine partnership of 84 between Tom McGregor and Zac Craw.
The left and right hand combination worked well together.
Zac worked the ball around for ones and twos while the stronger built McGregor was able to belt two huge sixes and two fours.
Craw’s innings ended with a well compiled 30 while McGregor finished with 50 retired.
The Redbacks innings ended sensationally when the Bulls left arm medium pacer Charlie Tucker captured a hat trick with his last three deliveries, thus finishing the Redbacks innings.
In consecutive deliveries Tucker removed Blake Guthrie for nine, Andrew Hennessy for a duck and Jalen Ballard for two.
Tucker finished with the impressive figures of 3/8 from five overs and obviously was very elated with his first hat trick in cricket.
Rebacks finished with the competitive score of 146 from their 30 overs.
The Bulls got away to a flying start with Captain Matt Berkrey blasting four sixes and three fours before his compulsory retirement at 53.
Jack Tucker batted well in compiling 20 which was second top score.
Needing 30 to win from the last six overs Matt Berkrey returned to the wicket as every batsman had batted.
The tall left hander farmed the strike well with Jake Turner.
The pair added 29 runs for the last wicket.
The innings ended when Tom McGregor cleaned bowled Jake Turner for seven.
Berkrey finished with 72 not out as the Bulls fell 11 runs short scoring 135 from 26.5 overs.
Tom McGregor finished off a fine match capturing 2/20 while Zac Craw captured 2/18.
For his fine all-round performance Tom McGregor was awarded the man of match.
The highly entertaining match saw 281 runs scored from just 57 overs.
