Set down for Sunday, July 15 (not this weekend but the next) participants can choose to take part in either a five kilometre walk/run or 10 kilometre run.
The fun run will kick off from 11am.
The event, which has become popular since its introduction in 2010, raises funds for the Onwards to Oncology Appeal, which aims to establish an oncology facility in town.
The fun run starts near the Cootamundra Racecourse and participants head along West Jindalee Road, before turning around at a marshal point and finishing at the start line.
As the name suggests, the fun run is all about fun and is open to people of all fitness levels. People can run the 10 kms as fast as they like or amble through the five kms having a chat and enjoying the atmosphere – all for a good cause of course.
Entry is $10 for juniors (those under 16 years), $12 for adults or $40 for a family.
Entry forms are available from the Cootamundra Development Corporation (CDC) in Parker Street or Café Pizza and Pasta in Wallendoon Street.
Entries must be dropped into the CDC by this Friday, July 6.
All those entered by the cut off date will go into the draw for a chance to win back their entry fee.
With less than six weeks to go until Sydney’s City 2 Surf, which always attracts a large number of Cootamundra participants, the Oncology Fun Run is great preparation and a perfect chance for people to see where they are up to in terms of their build-up to the big one.
There will also be a barbecue on the day, with proceeds going to the Onwards to Oncology Appeal.
