The latest round of donations went to Riding for the Disabled, the Cootamundra Scouts and Can Assist.
The Country Music Club thank all who support these markets which allows the club to continue to make these donations to local groups.
Not including this latest round of donations, the club has given $4000 back to the local community.
On behalf of Riding for the Disabled volunteer Doreen O’Connor said this latest donation will go back into upkeep of the ground. Meanwhile Neil Murray, Can Assist president, said the funds will go to helping local residents suffering from cancer. With more than $100,000 handed out by Can Assist last year every donation helps.
Russel Wray, on behalf of the Scouts, said the funds will come in handy for new equipment always needed by the group.
In addition to these donations, the club also held a Country Music Muster on September 7 at the Cootamundra Country Club to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the club where long time member Tracey Gould was presented with life membership.
Admission to the muster was a gold coin with proceeds going to the Cootamundra Hospital Auxiliary.
Hospital Auxiliary president Jenny McClintock was thrilled at the donation saying the Auxiliary is currently working towards funding new chairs for the hospital’s ‘Stepping Up’ grogram.
The Monthly Markets are held on the second Sunday of each month set up on the Bourke Street side of the football ground. Entry is free and there is always a good variety of stalls and entertainment so get down and help the Cootamundra Wattle Country Music Club support others.
The next markets will be held not this Sunday but the one after, October 13.
