VOLUNTEERS: Russell Hale (left) and Bill Nash sell raffle tickets during Sunday’s monthly markets at Fisher Park, which were the first markets of the year. The markets are hosted by the Cootamundra Wattle Country Music Club with proceeds donated back to the community. New and used items are for sale at the markets and there is a barbecue and drinks as well as good entertainment. The markets are always held on the second Sunday of the month between 9am and 1pm.

MOMENTOUS DAY:
It was an extra special 17th birthday for Cootamundra’s Matt Raleigh on Friday last February 7.
Matt, son of Mick and Fiona, marked the occasion by notching up a shearing milestone when he sheared 200 sheep at “Bindinyah”. Matt, who has only been shearing for 12 months, is part of Daniel Bowditch and Justin Jones’ shearing team.

50 YEARS WED:
It is so nice to be wishing Cootamundra couple Alan and Marie McNeill a HAPPY 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Alan and Marie were wed in the Sacred Heart Church on February 15, 1964, with Father John O’Connor officiating.
Alan and Marie have three children Karen, Genine and Peter, who together with their partners and grandchildren will celebrate this Golden Wedding Anniversary.

Ashleigh Louttit daughter of Denis and Lyn Louttit celebrated her 21st on Saturday night at their Bradman St home. Around 80 guests attended the celebration. Ashleigh now lives in Canberra and works for Maxim Chartered Accountants in Kingston and is in her final year at university.

Cootamundra Showgirl Ellie Morton will head to zone judging tomorrow in Griffith.
Following a luncheon with the other Showgirl winners from around the region and the judges, the girls will participate in a 20-minute one on one interview where they will be quizzed on issues relating to agriculture.
A formal dinner will be held that night where the zone winner will be announced.
