Mrs Cartwright said the launch is about parents being given the opportunity to bring their very important, real world perspectives into Catholic education in a high profile, connected approach.
“Parents and teachers working collaboratively is essential for high quality, inclusive education,” she said
“Parents provide an indispensable ingredient by working closely with teachers and providing parent wisdom and perspective while teachers bring a vital, professional perspective, which is qualitatively different.”
The historical launch of the Catholic School Parents for the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn took place at a formal dinner on Friday 21st February, followed by a parent forum on Saturday 22nd February in Canberra. Guest speakers included Archbishop Christopher Prowse, Mary Delahunty, award winning journalist, politician and mother, Mr Tony O’Byrne, Chair of Catholic School Parents Australia and father, Ms Danielle Cronin, Executive Director for the Council of Catholic School Parents NSW and mother, and the Director for Catholic Education Canberra Goulburn, Mrs Moira Najdecki, mother and grandmother.
