The Blues@theartscentre held last Friday night was a great success, with about 140 people through the door.
All involved in this evening out had a terrific time, and CanAssist will do very well from the proceeds.
Always good to get a post event report noting a good night had by all.
FIONA’S PASSING
The death of former Cootamundra girl Fiona Louise O’Keefe occurred in Sydney on Thursday, March 27, aged 44 years.
Fiona was the daughter of Sid and Robyn O’Keefe and a sister to Anthony and Mark.
Also surviving are her partner Les and children Rachel, James and Stephanie. Fiona was a much loved Nan to Nakita and Brooklyn.
MONDAY LUNCHEON
The Monthly Luncheon of the War Widows and Ex-Servicewomen will take place on Monday next April 7. The venue is the Family Hotel, 12 noon for 12.30pm lunch.
ALMOST OVER!
So pleased to report that at 3am Sunday morning Daylight Saving ends!
Spread over six months makes Daylight Saving a ‘long haul’ for those who don’t ‘warm’ to it.
DID YOU KNOW?
Were you aware that to post a letter or card now costs 70 cents. I went to get six 60cent stamps yesterday and was informed of the change just after I had posted letters and cards to family members with 60 cent stamps on them.
Hope the recipients don’t have to pay the balance!
SAD PASSING
Many locals will remember Paul Stephens who grew up here in Cootamundra. Well, he passed away in Port Macquaire on Wednesday last April 2, aged 67 years.
And how sad we reported only a month ago that his beloved wife Sue Stephens passed away in Port Macquaire. They resided in that lovely, lovely seaside spot Laurieton.
Left to mourn the passing of their dad and mum are children Craig and Kirsty, their partners and four grandchildren.
Sue was the sister of Marion Millar.
