February 22 was the day that the Wheatley and Hall families (plus an entourage of 20 plus) flew out of Sydney bound for South Africa for the wedding of Scott Wheatley and Kate Comrie.
Scott is the youngest son of Kevin and Chris Wheatley and Kate is the daughter of Rob and Sue Comrie from Dargel, KwaZulu, Natal, South Africa.
Scott and Kate were wed on March 1 on Kate’s parents farm in the beautiful, lush Midlands area located near the Drakensberg Mountain range in KwaZulu, Natal.
The gardens of Sue and Rob’s farm at the base of a mountain, made for a spectacular backdrop on the picture perfect day.
The wedding party consisted of Scott’s elder brother Paul Wheatley, brother in law Jamin Hall, friends Nick Peacy, Luke Chaplin with Oliver Hall as pageboy.
Kate was ably assisted by her sisters Louise Van Der Vyver, Pauline Comrie and friends Chivornne Keith, Amy Robinson and Scott’s nieces Willow Hall and Eliza Wheatley were flower girls.
Scott and Kate have made their home in Bendigo, Victoria, where Scott works on a farm and Kate as an engineer in Bendigo.
AND this is the story of the 26 Aussies on holiday in South Africa –
The group booked out the Rhino River Lodge Game Reserve and from there their adventure took them from beautiful Cape Town to Dargel, visiting a Zulu village, heading off on a Crock and Hippo boat tour, then to St. Lucia and Mtunzini on the coast, up to Melusi mission at Dundee, then return to enjoy more of the midlands area.
Jonathon and Elaine Berryman went onto Kruger National Park while others in the group headed up to Victoria Falls and did a little deep sea fishing before making their way back home to Australia.
The group sum up an extraordinary country, incredible scenery, awesome experiences AND all in all a beautiful country for a fantastic holiday!!
