LOCAL artist David Pockley will present his exhibition “Country Australia” at The Khaya on Friday, May 2, with a percentage of the proceeds going to the Cootamundra Nursing Home Sprinkler Appeal.

The exhibition will run until May 29, with 20 percent of sales going to the appeal.
David grew up on the southern tablelands of NSW near Tarago and now lives near Wallendbeen.
He has spent his years operating the family business.
In early 2013 David began trying to be a little creative, sculptures in huon pine, chicken netting, painting with acrylics and also using mixed media including sand, soil and grass.
Much of his work reflects his experience in the countryside along with animals and is expressed in a wide diversity of subjects.
Included in his subjects to date are birds, wheat crops, the outback and rural landscapes. A few sculptures made of chicken netting and some wood carving.
He enjoys the challenge of working it out for himself and the encouragement from his family and friends has been crucial.
This is David’s first exhibition and he says he is a little daunted by the idea to see how his work is received.
