The Blues are winless on the bottom of the ladder, however Elia said their last couple of losses have been by only a matter of a few points.
With a run of close games, Elia said Tumut are due for a win and will be looking to prove something this weekend. Coota, however will be out to spoil their party in front of what is expected to be a good crowd for Ladies Day.
“Tumut have had a tough year but they are getting better and better,” Elia said.
They recently signed a former Great Britain Test player who brings a swag of skill and experience with him. Coota will be working overtime to shut down any play this talented footballer brings.
Elia said yesterday he will be telling his boys the key is to come out strong.
“We need to not let them get into the game,” Elia said.
Cootamundra really need to secure a win tomorrow as they head into three tough rounds from next week squaring up against Gundagai, South City and Albury in consecutive rounds.
“If we can take two points out of tomorrow we’ll be happy,” Elia said.
Tumut, like Temora in the last Bulldogs home game, have a strong forward pack and it is here Elia predicts the game will be won or lost.
“I anticipate a hard match, in particular in the forwards,” Elia said, adding that his squad took a lot out of their game against Temora and should be more competitive in that forward area.
First grade kick off will be at 2pm with Ladies Day kicking off in the Wal Galvin Clubrooms from 11am in conjunction with the earlier grades.
