It will be the last home game this year for first grade and coach Jeff White is looking to finish with a bang.
On what will be a very soggy Country Club Oval, White says he will be looking to play an expansive game against the Phantoms opening them up on the outside.
Short on troops, this week’s Team of the Week (listed adjacent) is likely to change prior to the side running out tomorrow, however White is confident of a good showing from the 15 who do play.
“I am confident we will put in a good performance,” White said.
“We have to keep doing the hard yards in the forwards and we’ll do that,” he added.
Coota and Leeton are both sitting at the bottom of the Romano’s Cup ladder with this weekend the Tricolours’ chance to stay clear of the wooden spoon.
They defeated Leeton convincingly earlier this season with a strong 43-5 win in Leeton and if they can carry some of this form into tomorrow’s game they’ll come away with the goods.
Leeton have bounced back in recent weeks though and a draw last week against Young was a good result for the Phantoms, who will be hoping to continue that form tomorrow.
Whatever the result, it will be a good day at the footy with all three grades set to play - under 17s, second grade and first grade.
Rugby Club sponsor Kristian Bodycott of Inland Water Management has donated a pig which will be cooked on the spit tomorrow keeping supporters well-fed during the games.
