Between 1pm on Tuesday July 15 and 4.40pm on Wednesday July 16, a property on Currawong Road, Kingsvale, was broken into.
A gun safe containing a number of firearms was stolen.
The property owner’s son contacted police after discovering the break-in.
Officers from Cootamundra Local Area Command continue to investigate the incident and are appealing for information.
Cootamundra Local Area Commander, Superintendent Peter Wanczura, is hoping the community can help shed light on the incident.
“We strongly believe there is more than one person out in the community who knows where the firearms may be,” he said.
“In the wrong hands, firearms can have a devastating effect, so in the interest of community safety, we are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact us.”
