The Picnic Races committee is asking all racing enthusiasts to please mark the date and if you’ve got friends or family home for Easter consider the races as a great place to catch up.
Let your out-of-town friends and family know the date know to keep in the back of their minds for next year.
The Picnic Races committee held their annual general meeting last Wednesday with each of the positions unchanged from last year.
President remains Scott Adams, John Stephens and Josh McCarthy vice-presidents, Amanda Rosengreen treasurer, Jennette Lees secretary and Heather Gammon assistant secretary.
In addition to coinciding with Easter, the April 4 date also coincides with the Strikers Soccer Club’s Boots and All BnS Ball.
This always brings people to town and it is hoped the two activities will complement each other to bring plenty of visitors to Cootamundra over the Easter long weekend.
This year’s races were a financial success with an increase in marquee sites from previous years.
The committee behind the races is made up entirely of volunteers and is a lot of fun to be part of. If you would like to help make next year’s races happen by joining the committee, the committee would love to have you.
Simply contact a member of the committee or president Scott Adams to enquire about joining.
Preparations have started for the 2015 races and the committee encourages all members of the community to mark the date. It is your involvement that keeps this great day on the Cootamundra social and sporting calendar going.
