Still in hospital in Sydney, Billie said this week that the support she receives from back home in Cootamundra has been a wonderful help.
She said to know that people are thinking of her means the world.
Billie, just 23, is currently undergoing treatment for cancer. The community has rallied behind her and a number of fundraisers have been held to financially support her through this difficult time.
The news has not been great for Billie of late with the cancer affecting her throat and ability to breathe.
She is remaining strong though and has a friend with her in Sydney.
Back here, people can do their bit to support Billie by having a fun night in her honour at the Ex Services Club this weekend.
Ex Services Club functions coordinator Megan Sawyer said as soon as the club heard about Billie and the local fundraising efforts going on to support her they wanted to do something to help.
“We have the facilities here to do something big,” Megan said.
The show itself is free but patrons have the option of purchasing a wristband for $10 which entitles them to $5 RTDs.
All of the proceeds from these wristbands will go towards the fundraising for Billie.
From 8.30pm to open the evening, Murray Izzard and Anthony McGaun-Smith will perform - Murray on didgeridoo and Anthony on drums before The Convicts come out.
A place for loose change in the style of a busking table will be set up during the performance of Murray and Anthony.
For a small donation people can also write a message to Billie on a ‘smiley face’ all of which will be passed on to Billie as positive words of support.
