Those in the know in the club say the trip was the Blues’ longest journey to play footy in the club’s 55 year history.
Most of the players and committee travelled down to the Bay on Friday afternoon and enjoyed the facilities at Batemans Bay including the Catalina Country Club for a meal and drinks.
Saturday afternoon is why they were all there with the Blues easily defeating South Coast.
The boys enjoyed playing on a dry ground for a change and hearing the waves splash up against the wall at Corrigan’s Beach which is less than 100 metres from the footy ground.
Saturday after the match the players, committee and supporters enjoyed the excellent facilities at the Batemans Bay clubrooms and afterwards at the Catalina Country Club and Bayview Hotel.
Sunday morning after a buffet breakfast at Hogs Breath Cafe, the boys enjoyed a recovery session at the beach, definitely a first for the Blues.
All arrived home Sunday afternoon with some wonderful memories of the South Coast, not a bad place to play footy and socialise.
