Originally devised by Charles Sturt University speech pathology students, the program provides schools within the Greater Hume Shire to partner with local libraries and expand their students’ access to books.
Children from grade three had the chance to check out the local facilities on Tuesday including the self service loan machine and the extensive children’s section.
Each loan made by the students will be tracked on the School Star Chart visible to the whole community. Students and their families can see their school’s progress as the stars increase.
Student Sam Gash said that while he doesn’t currently borrow books from the library, he will “hopefully start soon.”
