Former Cootamundra man Anthony Malone here pictured, the son of Kerry and Margaret Malone, has for a number of years called Chicago home.
From the USA Anthony travels to many parts of the world and does so enjoy his travels.
Earlier this year Anthony graduated from the Northwestern University - Weinberg College of Arts and Science with a Bachelor of Science and Information Systems (with Honours). Anthony worked full time as well as completing his studies.
Last year during his studies Anthony also made the Dean’s List, which is quite a prestige achievement.
CONGRATULATIONS ANTHONY.
SNOW TIME
What a brilliant day out for students from Sacred Heart Central School when they boarded two buses bound for Mt Selwyn on Friday last, and given one of the best snow seasons in a number of years all on board were set for a BIG day out!
(Oh, and we all remember how cold Friday was!)
Just TOPS for all who were at Selwyn as you can see from the photo, heaps of snow, many of the students took ski lessons then proceeded up the chair lift for a day of skiiing. I believe there were many weary people on the trip home after such an active day (even the parents and teachers who accompanied the youngsters hit the ski slopes and I heard some FUN stories!)
MOVING ON
Our resident journalist Sean Slatter has decided on a job change and today leaves to take up a position in Kempsy (as he said somewhat warmer than here!) Before coming here to Coota Sean worked in Mt. Isa. We wish Sean all the best in his new position on the North Coast.
AND, we have welcomed new journalist Rebecca Fist to our staff. Rebecca hails from Wollongong and we say a BIG WELCOME.
NEW VOGUE DANCERS
This group of locals play a part in the Cootamundra New Vogue Dance Group and regularly brighten the day for residents of the Cootamundra Nursing Home.
By the way don’t forget the yummy afternoon tea taking place there TODAY, commencing at 2pm, “Christmas in July” is the theme.
