THERE is no denying it has been cold lately and donations of winter blankets and other warm bed linen has been walking out the door at the local Salvos store almost as fast as the ladies can get it priced and out the floor.
Anyone with any blankets or linen they no longer use is encouraged to donate now and help those members of our community in need.
Dance party back
AFTER the success of the Deep House Dance Party at the Cootamundra Ex Services Club the Saturday night before last, the club has announced a follow-up.
A good crowd attended the event enjoying DJ Blakey’s music.
The next Deep House Dance Party has been scheduled for Saturday, August 9. Please keep an eye on the Cootamundra Ex Services Club ads and stories in our paper for more.
At our Arts Centre
LOOKING forward to attending ‘The Sound of Musik’ pop-up theatre restaurant this Saturday night at The Arts Centre.
There is always something happening at our Arts Centre here in town so make use of the facility and attend a show, a movie or other live performance and see how lucky we are to have this artistic space on our doorstep.
The Arts Centre is there to be enjoyed by the whole community.
Sailing honour
THE grandson of Cootamundra couple Barry and Ruth Cunich, Tom Cunich, has been chosen to represent in the Second Summer Youth Olympic Games in sailing.
This talented sailor lives in Dubai with parents Stephen and Nikki Cunich. Stephen is a pilot for Emirates Airlines.
During the school term, Tom lives back in Australia attending boarding school in Southport, Queensland.
He has been committed to sailing for many years and his family could not be prouder of this latest honour.
The games will take place in Nanjing in China from August 16 to 23 this year.
Tom, who is 16, will be competing at Jinnui Lake.
He is the only youth from Australia chosen to compete, together with a 15-year-old girl from Perth.

Well done to Tom on this great honour - he will have the well wishes of all of Cootamundra in China with him.
