The school will take place from December 1 until December 6 with a schedule packed full of highlights and interesting visits.
Students will meet and interact with professional engineers from a wide range of engineering backgrounds - an aspect aimed at providing students with valuable insight into career opportunities available in the engineering realm.
They will also visit engineering companies providing students with a rare insight into the role of professional engineers.
They will study everything from aeronautical/aerospace engineering, design, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, mining engineering and mechatronic engineering.
Students will attend lectures at the University of NSW, University of Technology, University of Sydney, University of Western Sydney, Macquarie University and the University of Wollongong.
The students, Andrew Clements, Adam Martin, Ben Jackson and Liam Moston, all in Year 11 are looking forward to the opportunity.
To have four students selected is testament to the strong work ethic of students.
Each of the boys had to submit an application stating their interests, academic ability, drive and commitment.
From there they were selected and then set about applying for funding assistance.
The Rotary Club of Cootamundra has proudly jumped on board to provide one third of the funds necessary for the kids, an extra third will be funded by the school while the boys’ families have covered the final third.
The school and the selected students each thanked Rotary for their support of the program.
