THE local Prostate Cancer Support Group has been going from strength to strength in the local community helping to promote awareness of early detection of prostate cancer.
They also provide camaraderie for those afflicted or recovering from the illness.
In addition, the Prostate Cancer Support Group advocates for increased medical and support services for those in need.
Last week the group cooked a community barbecue to coincide with the official opening of Beddies Pharmacy in the main street.
The sausages were provided by Beddies and the public enjoyed sausage sandwiches for a gold coin donation with funds going back to the group.
While there the group displayed their brand new sign made by Baileyana Embroidery thanks to a generous donation from the Cootamundra Lions Club.
Fun at rehearsals
UNDER the guidance of local singing instructors Geraldine Ryan and Mark Forsyth, rehearsals for the upcoming California Dreamin’ Evening with Friends concert is in full swing.

The following Friday and Saturday night, September 12 and 13 there will once again be evening performances.
All involved could not be happier with how the night’s entertainment is progressing - it should be a lot of fun for those involved and the entire community is invited to attend.
The concert will be held in The Arts Centre. Adults $25, children and concessions $20. Phone 6942 4773 for enquiries.
