WHETHER you’re new to the area, passing through, or you’ve lived here your whole life, it’s no secret that the Cootamundra Shire is a stunning part of the world, particularly in spring. Spring reveals nature at its best and though ‘Wattle Time’ has passed, there’s plenty of wattle in full bloom across the shire, the question is; where? Do you have a wattle bush in your backyard? Do you pass a wattle bush on your drive in or out of town? Tell us where your favourite yellow flower flowers, or better still, send a photo to rebecca.fist@fairfaxmedia.com.au
Happy birthday Leonie
HAPPY belated birthday to Leonie Barrett. Leonie celebrated her birthday with friends at The Khaya on Monday.
Strictly for fun
IT may be news to you that on most Tuesday afternoons a group of local old-time dance enthusiasts meet at the Dickson Hall in Cootamundra. What a joy it was to watch last Tuesday; they all know how to move. All community members are welcome to attend, the music plays from 2-4pm and the group sits down for afternoon tea in between.
Happy times at Steph’s hen’s party
ON Saturday night Cootamundra played host to not just one but two hens parties! By pure coincidence both groups converged at the Central Hotel and were entertained by talented young musician, Riley Catherall, who played an acoustic set.
As a member of Steph Altoft’s hen’s party, I would like to raise a metaphorical glass to all who were present at the pub, it was truly a night to remember.
The bride-to-be had an absolute ball, and is preparing herself for the wedding on Saturday.
Steph fell in love with Coota boy, Damian Smith, on a travelling holiday, and has never looked back. Their wedding will take place at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday at 4pm. All are welcome to attend the service.
