Some residents, due to disabilities, are able to use services such as Lambing Flat Enterprises (LFE) Community Supports, to better participate in a range of activities of their choosing and interest, and to make a contribution to the life of the community.
LFE supports people with Ageing Disability and Homecare (ADHC) funded packages and also assists people with disabilities to apply for this funding.
There are a range of packages including ‘Community Participation’ and ‘Transition to Work’ for school leavers, who should apply for these packages while in their final year at school. Other funding, for example ‘Life Choices’ and ‘Active Ageing’ provides support for a wide range of community activities and life skills support. LFE also offers respite services, accommodation support and mental health services all according to the needs and choices of the individual.
LFE Community Supports has been providing person centred services for more than 40 years in the region and has over 60 qualified and experienced staff. In Cootamundra, LFE currently operates from two locations, at 102 Thompson Street and 108 Sutton Street supporting people locally to remain living and participate in their community.
Please visit www.lfe.org.au website for more information. Individuals and their families can also contact Pauline Climan, Cootamundra Manager, on 6942 4163 or 6380 1663 to make further enquiries and discuss their needs.
