8.30am Yass: A truck containing 47 double stacked pallets of Paddy’s pies overturned on the Hume Highway just north of Graces Flat Road on Tuesday night.
8.15am Goulburn: Goulburn Mulwaree councillors will next month discuss local government reform. The October 7 workshop aims to establish a direction for talks with surrounding councils. It follows the government’s ‘Fit for the Future’ reforms, challenging the state’s councils to become more efficient.
7.30am Queanbeyan: Member for Monaro John Barilaro is calling on his government to purchase NSW homes containing Mr Fluffy (or loose fill) asbestos at the market rate and knock them down as a final solution to the ongoing public health issue.
7.15am Cootamundra: Every farmer in the Cootamundra district was hoping this week’s predicted 20mm would come and while the rain didn’t quite meet expectation, most areas got around the 10mm mark and the common theme is that it was still welcome. A dry September has put a bit of stress on crops, however the district is still heading for a good harvest.
7.00am Goulburn: A man has been stabbed during a domestic dispute with his former de facto partner at Goulburn.
