THE River and Wren Boutique Market was a hit on the long weekend with hoards of locals making their way through the showground to take in the various stalls.
There was something for everyone on the day with the entire event supported by Cootamundra Shire Council as the shire’s contribution to the Taste Riverina Festival.
2014 Showgirl competition
A WONDERFUL night was enjoyed by 2014 Showgirl contestants at the annual Showgirl Dinner on Friday night at the White Ibis.
This year three girls have put their hand up to vye for the title including Chloe Waters, Tegan Everett and Emily Fairley.
All very deserving girls, whoever takes the title will do Cootamundra and the district proud.

The announcement of the 2014 Showgirl will be made at the official
opening of the Cootamundra Show on Saturday October 18.
Still on the Boyle
LOCALS are reminded about the latest CADAS offering ‘Still on the Boyle’ by local playwright Martin Boyle.
The production will open at The Arts Centre on Thursday, October 30 and is a series of 10 minute plays, each brand new and written to be fusion of comedy and drama.
Plays are adult-themed and written to be broadly appreciated.
Local input includes Kerwyn Field, Colin Trickett and Martin writing and a cast of 14 actors plus Ben Pepper on lighting and sound.
Tickets are available at The Arts Centre.
Open garden fundraiser
IN the final fundraiser of the year for the Cootamundra Nursing Home, volunteers are organising an Open Garden event for this Sunday.
Between 10am and 4pm people can visit “Beannach’ the property of Bev and Peter Withers located at 5 Short Street, “Cowcumbla” the property of Gail and Wal Briant located on Back Brawlin Road and “Wirlinga” the property of Lisa and Lindsay Hoey located at 245 Jugiong Road.
Enjoy the delightful gardens between 10am and 4pm. Entry is $10 inclusive of all three gardens.
There will be entertainment, raffle, stalls, art, refreshments as well as the beautiful gardens.
