The 33-year-old, who has fought in the UFC and hosted MTV's reality series Bully Beatdown, posted a series of tweets as he refused police orders to leave his home.
In a statement, The Orange County Sheriff's Department said officers went to arrest Miller for domestic violence, stalking and violation of a court order.
However, when they confronted him on his driveway, he ran inside his house, "barricaded" himself and refused requests to surrender.
Then came more than a dozen rather bizarre tweets from his verified account, starting with:
i need to tell everyone about the absolute waste of resources going on outside of my house right now. i am counting no less than 5 officers. — mayhem miller (@mayhemmiller)

they also have allocated use of a chopper, which cost approx. 12 Grand an Hour to operate, along with taking time away from REAL emergencies — mayhem miller (@mayhemmiller)

They have threatened me with a dog bite and are amassing a great force that includes a spotter in the neighbours yard and an uncharasmaticman — mayhem miller (@mayhemmiller)

At times, Miller seemed to attempt to carry out his own negotiations with officers, protesting his innocence via the social media platform.
I WISH YOU NO HARM. I respect the Police, but this is overkill, for something that would be settled with one piece of paperwork from OCBAIL — mayhem miller (@mayhemmiller)

I did nothing wrong. This is the state of American Justice. I feel you black men. They fear, so they threaten to take our lives. Abhorrent. — mayhem miller (@mayhemmiller)

Along the way he also dabbled in a few conversations with other Twitter users.

@OCSD I AM. BUT THEY HAVE ALL THE GUNS. And they are all scared. I have none, and I have no fear. I just have much to do. — mayhem miller (@mayhemmiller)

@LANow it is despicable. They are gearing up like the Bin Laden raid, and I just want to be heard in court, to dispel all of the lies. — mayhem miller (@mayhemmiller)

Police eventually blew his front door locks up, which prompted this dramatic tweet.
now the broke my window with some box with a phone in it, and AR-15s. THEY ARE TERRIFIED, and they have all the guns. Scaring my hotdog. — mayhem miller (@mayhemmiller)

The sheriff's department statement said Miller then came out of the house, lay on the ground with his hands exposed and surrendered to officers.
He was booked on the outstanding arrest warrant and with obstructing/delaying an ofifcer. He is being held on $US200,000 ($230,000) bail and is due to appear in court next week.
This isn't Miller's first mix-up with the law. He's been arrested for assaulting his sister and on suspicion of burglary, after he was found sleeping naked on a couch in a church.
