This is not the case though for Frank Peniguel of Daylesford, Victoria, who decided to throw in a Guinness World Record as well.
Frank is an avid bowler and last year successfully applied to set a new record, Most Lawn Bowls Clubs played by an Individual in 12 Months.
Needing to play 10 ends against a local opponent with two witnesses in at least 50 clubs, Frank has been on the road since January 10 and already well and truly exceeded that target, hitting his 476th green in Parkes on Friday with three and a half months to go.
Today Frank’s world record will bring him to Cootamundra and he hopes to add two more bowling club bumper stickers to the side of his blue Kombi van.
Those who want to catch a glimpse of a world record in progress should head along to Cootamundra Country Club at 10am and Cootamundra Ex-Service’s Club at midday, and cheer on Frank or one of our local bowlers.
