A large number of registered riders are from out of town, some returning after last year’s event while plenty of new names have been added to the entry list.
Following the Crusin’ Coota rides, a host of cycling novelty events will take place at Fisher Park including the second annual Coota Bike Festival Bike Toss. Entry to the bike toss is only $5 and participants will get three tosses of the bike with a chance to take home some great prizes.
On the Saturday evening after the events, there will be a Trivia and Auction night held at the Coota Ex Services Club, starting at 6.30pm. This event is open to everyone (you don’t have to be a bike rider) and the money raised from this part of the Bike Festival will go to the local branch of the Riding for the Disabled and the local Hospital Auxiliary, who do a great job.
The auction will be a silent auction running during the trivia competition, with updates during the night.
There are some wonderful items up for auction and the Bike Festival Committee thanks everyone for their kind donations and support for this event and hope to raise good money for the RDA and Hospital Auxiliary.
It would be great to see a few locals at the event to mingle with our visiting riders. To book a table please phone the Cooper Street Vet on 6942 4100.
On Sunday November 9, riders will be transported to Harden and will ride back to Cootamundra via Jugiong Road. This 42km ride, the ‘Harden Challenge’ will be a good recovery after the events of Saturday. The riders will finish at Fisher Park at around 10am just in time for the monthly markets.
So if you are not riding a bike in the “Cruisin’ to Coota” ride come along to Fisher Park and have a go at the bike toss or any of the other novelty events. Then on Saturday night come over the Ex services club for a fun night of trivia and the silent auction.
