Junior golf instructor Janette Harris has had a wonderful year with her group of around 40 budding golf stars and on Sunday morning at the Cootamundra course she congratulated each on their improvement across the season.
Junior golf in Cootamundra is fortunate to have the continued support of a couple of former junior golfers who have gone on to achieve success in the sport.
Paul Reid, who now resides in Canada, donates $1000 each year to the club while Gerard Kelly is now a golf pro in Mona Vale and assists with both funds and equipment for the kids.
Trophies are issued annually in honour of each of these men.
Meanwhile, at the junior basketball presentation each of the kids was presented with a participation pack of a singlet and shorts following a top season.
They paid tribute to volunteer umpire Paddy Ballard, who has had a long association with junior basketball in town.
Stadium manager Helen Axsentieff said the sport would not run without him.
