There were 10 entries in the competition sponsored by “ Farmoz”.

The local winner will be judged in the Southern Division if their point score is among the top five crops throughout the division.

First place was awarded to Hardie Pastoral Co Pty Ltd of “ Stirling” with a crop of “ Suntop” variety estimated to yield 7 tonnes per hectare. Steve Hardie’s crop was awarded 211.5 points.

Second place went to Stockinbingal Pastoral Co care of Michael Wilkinson of “Netherby” Wallendbeen. 

Their crop of “ Wedgetail” was estimated to yield 7.2 T/H and received 210 points.

Third place was awarded to Baldry and Sons “ Wallandoon East” also with a crop of “ Wedgetail” variety at 7.1 T/H. Charlie received 209 points.

The fourth position crop received 204.8 points and was grown by Al Baldry “ Macdoon”. Al was named the winner of the “Seed purity - Trueness to type” award.

The competition organisers would like to thank Andrew for judging the crops, Farmaz for their sponsorship which was arranged by Mick Sheahan of Coota Producers.

They also thank the farmers for their interest and participation in the Wallendbeen Competition.
