Each week students from Elouera Special School, other schools in the area and adult residents of the community all converge on the RDA ground next to the Cootamundra Showground for loads of fun both in the saddle and in the cart.
As well as being loads of fun, RDA assists in everything from balance and coordination to social skills such as communication and trust.
Last Monday the group held their annual Christmas party and presentation day, which was well-attended by riders, parents and volunteers.
They celebrated another terrific year before the horses are put in paddocks across the district over the summer.
Free for seniors
LOCAL senior citizens are reminded of the series of FREE workshops being hosted by the Wired Lab.
The workshops will be in weaving, bush dyeing and field recording oriented around the iconic ‘Box Gum Grassy Woodlands’ habitat, which is local to our region.
The workshops are part of a partnership with the Cootamundra Arts Centre and Cootamundra Shire Council.
The most interesting line-up is available to the entire community at a fee, however spaces exist free for those over the age of 55.
For more information or to put your name down for any of the above workshops please contact Sarah Last on 0414 226 623 or email her at sarah@wiredlab.org.
Family concert
LOOKING for something a little different this evening? The Wong Family Student Concert will be held tonight (November 24) at The Arts Centre from 5.30pm. Adult entry is $5 and just $2 for children.
The concert is sure to impress with beautiful music.
Delicious recipes
I JUST this week purchased my copy of the Cootamundra Public School’s ‘Cootalicious’ cookbook and I can’t wait to get into making some of the delicious recipes contained in the book!
Well done to the P and C on this publication. I understand a limited number of the books are still available from the Public School office - good Christmas present maybe?
