On Saturday morning, December 13, a procession of volunteers riding motorbikes, and driving a ute, will collect toys from generous residents and visitors to town.
Beginning at the Family Hotel on Hovell Street, the rally will head past Albert Park to Parker Street, along Wallendoon Street, and then back to Albert Park where the Salvation Army will host a sausage sizzle.
Gifts will be distributed to local households in time for Christmas day.
Salvation Army volunteer Kate O’Brien, has taken part in the toy run each year for the past 13 years.
“It’s bigger and better most years, last year we had 100 motorbike riders,” Mrs O’Brien said.
Everyone is welcome to donate a present, keep in mind that children up to 16 years of age are eligible to receive a gift.
The Salvation Army is encouraging people to give their gifts at the Toy Run however if you would like to donate a gift and can’t take part on the day, feel free to drop it off at the Salvation Army Family Store.
“People are already donating gifts; a lady was dropping off a toy truck to the store yesterday,” Mrs O’Brien said.
