The couple were married in the Old Anglican Church in Cootamundra on February 12, 1955.
They have two children, Michael, who now lives in Wollongong, and Vivien Pavert, who still calls Cootamundra home.
With five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, the couple is looking forward to celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary tomorrow with a party in Cootamundra.
Family members are travelling for the party from Wollongong and Deniliquin with guests attending from Tamworth also.
Congratulations Joyce and Peter and do enjoy your special day tomorrow.
Latest production
THE Arts Centre is gearing up for a brand-new comedy show featuring plenty of local talent.
‘Touch and Go’ is a comedy of infidelity, mistiming and love.
Starring Cootamundra’s Glen McAtear, Emma Jones, Britt Phelps, Richard White and Ariah Holmes, the theatre offering is directed by Isabel Scott.
Touch and Go will be shown at 7.30pm on Thursday, March 5, Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7 with a matinee performance at 2pm on Saturday, March 7.
If the line-up of talent is anything to go by, Touch and Go is sure to be another winner at our local arts centre.
Tickets will be $25 each with all money raised to support the design and construction of a visual arts studio.

Empty shops proposal
Here’s a thought from local resident Rosalie Dale, what do you think?
“Re the empty shops in Coota (and I had only commented on that to someone this week) – it is a bit of a worry!
Why doesn’t someone ask the local History Society if they’d like to put a few displays in windows?
It not only would encourage people to go visit the museum near the railway station but also enhance the appeal of the main street for those browsing/visiting.”
Sounds like it’s got legs to me. Rosalie has been in contact with the History Society regarding this.
We are happy to pass on ideas regarding empty shops to Cootamundra Shire Council/Cootamundra Development Corporation, simply use the email address above.
Big weekend coming up
MAY we welcome everyone who is back home for the Coota Beach Volleyball Carnival this weekend, as well as all of the visitors to town.
It is always a top weekend of fun on and off the sand so get out and make the most of it.
Once again there are 118 teams participating with a distinctly local flavour to many of them.
The volleyball precinct will be set up behind Woolworths in Murray Street with plenty of grandstand seating for people to take a look.
Don’t forget the beach sprints on the Saturday and the finals on Sunday afternoon - not to be missed!
Also this weekend is the Coota Beach Triathlon, taking place Sunday.
A $100 incentive was offered to the school with the most entries for the first time this year so look out for lots of students taking place in the run, swim, cycle event.
Busy at the Club
THE Cootamundra Ex Services Club will be the place to be this weekend with a special Shave for a Cure evening happening tonight for the Leukaemia Foundation.
Go along and support Jane Smith.
Tomorrow the Club will come into it’s own with a huge ‘Beach House Party’ featuring four DJs including Ben Penfold and Anastazia from Canberra.
The party starts from 9pm.
