To see off the end of another great season Central Hotel owner Brad Shields took it upon himself to organise a friendly game between the Central Punters and Central White Tigers, neither of whom were lucky enough to reach the finals.
In need of a referee, former Group Nine and Country Championship whistleblower Tom was the obvious choice.
Tom opted to wear the jersey appointed him for refereeing duties in the 1975 Illawarra v Southern Division match.
You’d be hard pressed to find many other 74-year-olds who can still fit into a shirt as old as colour broadcast!
The friendly also proved the perfect opportunity for Terry O’Keefe, 76, to play his second game of the season for the Central White Tigers.
Terry officially retired from touch two years ago after a 10-0 grand final win, but still takes the opportunity to test his legs from time to time.
