COOTAMUNDRA Associated Agents yarded 7729 Sheep and Lambs at its fortnightly sale this week. This was a decrease of nearly 4000 from the previous sale.

The overall quality of the lambs not as good as the previous sale, but mutton quality was very good.
The agents quoted the market to be $10 to $12.00 dearer overall, especially mutton. These prices picked up the loss of the previous sale a fortnight ago.
As per usually there was a good field of buyers present with some only acting spasmodically and on specific lines. Due to dryer conditions, there was very little re stocker activity in the market.
The market was made up of:
Lambs 3434
Ewes 3223
Hoggets 412
Wethers 349
Old Sheep 168
Rams 133
Top price pen of the day went to Paul Wyer from the Yass district with a pen of XB lambs with an estimated CW of 26kg and with a $4.00 coat, were knocked down to Murray Bridge for $148.00, coming back at $5.55/kg CW.
Other quotes included:
24 to 26 KG CW Trade Lambs $135.00 to $140.00
22 to 24 KG CW Trade Lambs $120.00 to $ 130.00
20 to 22 KG CW Trade Lambs $110.00 to $118.00
18 to 20 KG CW Lambs $90.00 to $105.00 and were very keenly sought after.
16 to 18 KG lambs $80 to $90.00
Most lamb prices were in the $5.15 to $ 5.60 KG CW range and had $ 3 to $5.00 skins
A very good line of heavy ewe mutton with a $ 10.00 jacket sold to a top of $110.00
Medium weights made up to $90.00
With lighter ewe mutton selling between $ 50.00 and $65.00
3223 ewes averaged $81.00.
Heavy Woolly Wethers sold to a top of $119.00 to average $100.00
Hoggets were keenly sought after and reached a top of $114.00 to average $85.00.
Rams topped out at $83.00 to average $63.00.
